Guided Nature Walk: Forest Bathing & Nature Photography with John Gordon

September 19 @ 9:00 am - 11:00 am

Date: Saturday, September 19th, 2020 | 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM
Location: Derby Reach Regional Park
*This walk is open to the first 9 people who register. We will be practicing physical distancing measures.
Join us for a walk through the forest where we will discover not only the colours of the late summer flora but listen to the sounds of the forest and hopefully see some of the birds that are either resident or migrating at the time of year. Please bring a camera and tripod if you have one or just a cell phone. Also if you intend to photograph, a sheet of 12”x12” kitchen silver foil will be good to bring along.
Bring water in a reusable bottle and sun protection if needed – and please bring an open mind as we delve into the practice of Forest Bathing. Forest bathing, or shinrin-yoku, is simply spending time outdoors under the canopy of trees. In Japanese, “shinrin” means forest and “yoku” means bath, or immersing oneself in the forest and soaking in the atmosphere through the senses”
