Willow Whip Harvesting at Derby Reach Regional Park
February 1 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm
Help us harvest willow whips at Derby Reach Regional Park. The harvested whips will be used as part of a bio-engineering project to shore up the banks at Bedford Channel at Brae Island Regional Park. Once established, the planted willow will help stabilize the river bank against erosion and provide valuable wildlife habitat.
Please register as a volunteer for this event by emailing Roxci at firstname.lastname@example.org. Sign up as a DRBIPA Park Ambassador or participate just this one time. Thanks for signing up!
We’ll be working in a wetland, so bring your rubber boots (or water-proof hikers), and come dressed for the weather and activity. We will provide gloves, equipment and refreshments.
We’ll be meeting at the 208th Street Trailhead a few minutes before 10amon February 1st. Please email to sign up.
